Off the Couch Art Studio welcomes our new printing press- 2018

In 2017, Off the Couch applied for and received a community grant from Tea Tree Gully Council.
This grant was used to upgrade our studio with new tables and stackable chairs and to purchase a printing press which has now been delivered and is based in Modbury.  This means that print-makers will no longer need to travel outside our Council area to print studios in other suburbs of Adelaide and we are most grateful.
Yes, we have had printmaking workshops in the past, but no follow-up access to a local press has been available.  This press, made possible with the grant, will enable Off the Couch to provide that follow-up facility for local creative print-makers in the City of Tea Tree Gully. Printmaking is one of the oldest art forms and will give our artists another medium in which to be creative and expressive.
We are sure our printers are already looking forward to showing their work at local venues and events.

Many thanks to Tea Tree Gully Council for our Grant!

Enquiries from local print-makers wishing to use our press are welcome.

Off the Couch Art Studio fund raiser- July 2018

On the 3rd of July OTC held a Soup and Roll day to raise money for our printing press fund.
Enjoyed by many, our event raised close to $600! Thanks to all who attended and supported us!

These funds helped to pay for our new printing press and also contributed to it being  sent over from the Melbourne supplier.
Subsequent workshops, run by the wonderful Talia, assisted us in setting up our press
and supplying us with the inks, rollers and equipment needed for us to continue with what to most of us is a new endeavour.

'OFF THE COUCH' was involved in SALA - August 2014

N.E.A.T. - North East Art Trail.

To celebrate SALA 2014, Off the Couch Art Studio in conjunction with local businesses created a trail of art from Modbury to Inglewood.

In August 2014, 7 venues exhibited artwork created by 15 members of Off the Couch.

Several of the businesses have decided to have our artwork on display on an ongoing basis, while other venues have been inspired to show more artwork in the future.

This is the second year for our successful ‘art trail’ in the North East and we hope it will gain in depth and breadth in years to come as more artists and businesses become involved.

'OFF THE COUCH' also has works installed in

GUMERACHA HOSPITAL.

'OFF THE COUCH' members are firm believers in 'art and community' and are committed to promoting art in the wider public every day.

In June 2010, eighty pieces of our work were put on permanent display in the Gumeracha Hospital, as part of our service to the community and our recognition of the importance of Arts in Health.

We are excited by the future of visual arts in the North East and look forward to taking part in many more exhibitions and community events.
